CONSULTATION ON DELIVERING MORE SUSTAINABLE
CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
DEADLINE FOR RESPONSES TO
FIEC: FRIDAY 09TH MARCH 2012
Dear Colleague,
Following the TEC-3 meeting held yesterday, 18th January
2012, members are informed that the European Commission (DG
Environment) has launched a consultation on possible EU wide
measures related to Sustainable Consumption and Production.
The consultation also looks at Green Public Procurement
(GPP), the Environmental Footprint of Products (PEF) and the
Environmental Footprint of Organisations (OEF).
In the
TEC-3 meeting, is was agreed that FIEC would respond to the
consultation.
Members are asked to take a specific look
at the parts of the consultation related to Green Public
Procurement (GPP) and the Environmental Footprint of
Organisations (OEF). Questions worthy of specific attention
are 2.20, 2.22, 2.23, 4.4, 4.5, 4.9 and 4.10.
The
consultation runs until 3rd April 2012 but in order to
provide a FIEC response to the consultation in due time,
members are asked to provide FIEC with their views, comments
or copies of completed surveys by close of business on 9th
March 2012 in order for a common FIEC response to be drawn
up.

EU COMMISSION ANNOUNCES MODERNISATION OF PUBLIC
PROCUREMENT & REVISION OF CONCESSIONS INFORMATION

As expected, the EU Commission has adopted
today its proposals on public procurement ("modernisation"
and "concessions"), whereas the proposal on "third country
access" will be adopted early next year.
